One of the biggest advantages of having a pet is that you always have company. It doesn’t matter if you want to do something fun or just relax because pets are always there by your side.
What makes them even better is the fact that they don’t judge you no matter what you do. They might not like it very much, but nevertheless, they will let you do your thing.
There has been an ongoing dilemma whether pets are better company than people. As it turns out, according to one study, they are! The aforementioned study was taken by several hundred pet owners throughout the United States.
Most of them agreed that they enjoy spending time with their pets more than they do with people. Data from this study has revealed some very interesting things about many pet owners and we are here to share them with you guys!
To start things off, if you are in a relationship with a pet owner, be careful! According to this study, 61% of pet owners wouldn’t hesitate to end the relationship because of their pet. Pet owners said that they trust the judgment of their dog more than the judgment of their mothers. We know that dogs are trustworthy, but this fact is quite surprising we have to say.
However, this is not the weirdest thing about pet owners. Over 25% of them admitted to bringing their dogs on a date! Furthermore, another 25% said that they suspect their family likes their pet more than their partners.
However, if you do not have a significant other, don’t worry! Just put a picture with your dog online and your chances of finding a potential date will increase! Apparently, around 85% of pet owners would ‘’swipe right’’ if they see a picture that has a dog in it.
Next time you plan on opening Tinder, make sure to include a picture of yourself with a dog! That is, if you are actually searching for a partner. Apparently, over 25% have at some point planned a special date just for themselves and their pet. Some people see love in a different way we guess.
Nonetheless, almost all pet owners, or 95% of them, would prefer to cuddle with their dog to actually go on a blind date. We can’t really blame them, most of us have been on some horrible blind dates, and we can agree that spending the night with your pet is a much better idea.
Furthermore, this study revealed that almost 70% of pet owners would sacrifice time spent with their partners just so that can spend more time with their pets. Also, 45% of the pet owners admitted to spending more money on their pets than on their partner. We must not forget about the 87% who would gladly get their pet a gift for Valentine’s Day. Dogs might not celebrate it, but they can still receive something nice.
Even though some might disagree with this study, we can’t really say it is incorrect. Most of us know a person who fits in all these categories after all. It might sound ridiculous to some, but when you have a loveable pet by your side, you tend to see things from a different perspective.
